Privacy Policy

What we collect

We collect only the search queries you submit (e.g. “late night drive”). These are stored anonymously to power trending searches and to cache results so we don't repeat expensive AI calls.

We do not collect your name, email address, IP address, or any personally identifiable information.

If you submit a message via the contact form, your name and email address are used solely to respond to your enquiry and are not stored beyond the email thread.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie (search_session) to track how many searches you've performed today. This cookie contains only a count and the current date — no personal data. It expires after 24 hours.

We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are visited, how long people stay, and where traffic comes from. Google Analytics sets cookies that collect anonymous usage data. This only happens if you explicitly accept cookies via the banner shown on your first visit. You can decline and the site will work exactly the same — no analytics will run.

Your consent preference is stored in your browser's local storage under the key sidea:cookie-consent. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.

We do not use advertising cookies or sell any data to third parties.

Third-party services

• iTunes Search API — Used to fetch album artwork. No personal data is sent.
• Wikipedia API — Used to fetch artist biographies. No personal data is sent.
• Spotify — Linked externally. Spotify's own privacy policy applies when you click through.
• Amazon — Linked externally via affiliate links. Amazon's own privacy policy applies when you click through.
• Anthropic (Claude AI) — Search queries are sent to Claude to generate recommendations.
• Ko-fi — Used to accept voluntary support contributions. Ko-fi's own privacy policy applies if you choose to donate.
• Resend — Used to deliver contact form messages. Only used when you submit the contact form.
• Vercel Analytics — Collects anonymous, aggregate usage data (page views, no personal data). See Vercel's privacy policy.
• Google Analytics — Collects anonymous usage data (pages visited, session duration, referral source) only if you accept cookies. Data is processed by Google under their privacy policy. No personal data is shared with us.

Data retention

Anonymous search queries are stored indefinitely for caching and trending purposes. There is no way to associate them with any individual user.
